Communications and IT

The Communications and Information Technology sector in Qatar is witnessing a great expansion that seeks to transform Qatar to an information society achieving public prosperity and well-being on both social and economic levels, which goes in line with the national objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.

For this purpose, the Ministry of Transport and Communications has been working restlessly on improving data access through offering high-speed Internet networks, as well as on developing attractive business opportunities for the digital Arabic content.

The Ministry is also working on the execution of several e-governmental programs, and on creating a highly-secure, vital sector that develops a diversified national economy benefiting all individuals and institutions in Qatar and that builds a knowledge society based on the digital economy.

The quick, continuous growth of the Communications and Information Technology sector requires the availability of state-of-the-art infrastructure that enables companies and individuals to make the best use of modern technology to be able to apply it easily. In addition, there should be highly-secure, advanced procedures that ensure a smooth user experience process.

It is worth mentioning that the main telecom service providers, Ooredoo and Vodafone, offer users with a wide range of services, including telephone, wireless, and Internet communications.
