Emergency Service for the Deaf

The Ministry of Interior launched 'Emergency Service for the Deaf' as a part of its keenness to provide its services to various segments of the society in a modern and innovative way at an excellent performance standard.

This service aims to deal with deaf and ensure quick response to their calls in case of facing any emergency situation around the clock through the week on the number '992'.

Ways to get the service

  • Visual calls: by using 3G Cameras from computer or mobile phone on the emergency number (992).
  • SMSs: by sending SMS to Emergency Services Section on (992) to receive deaf urgent calls only.
  • Email: by sending an email to the following address 992@moi.gov.qa.

Additional information

  • The service is only for the deaf.
  • When sending SMS, the sender should confirm his message is received by communicating with the police.
  • The sender should provide accurate details in the SMS such as the type of problem and the service needed such as ‘ambulance, civil defense and police’. It should include the name of the sender, the address, and injuries or deaths in case they occurred.
  • In case of violating the rules of this service, the Ministry of Interior will take legal actions against the misusers.
