Ticket Vending Machine

Mowasalat has installed the first Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) at the main bus station in Al Ghanem which offers top-ups for Karwa smart cards used by bus passengers. The machine has been put up as a pilot project to assess customer response. A study is under way to assess the need for introducing the service in other areas of the country.

7 New Health Projects

In a major boost to Qatar’s health sector, the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) yesterday awarded work contracts totalling QR1.2bn, covering seven major projects, including new health centres and additional operation theatres at the Hamad General Hospital.

First Expat MCD Unit at the Industrial Area

The Industrial Area is destined to see the first health unit designed for conducting health examinations for expatriate labour next September, according to Dr. Ibrahim Al Shaar, Director of the Medical Commission Department (MCD).

First Metro Station in Lusail

Qatar Rail ended the advanced stages of constructing the first metro station in Lusail area, as the infrastructure of the station has been completed, and the completion of final stages is ongoing. This station will be the first to enter into service next year, as part of a group of stations that will be constructed later according to the time line for such vital projects.

Completion of the Energy City in 3 years

Eng. Hesham Al-Emadi, CEO of Energy City confirmed the completion of its infrastructure, and that during the current year a new strategy will be based on working with developers, 10 of which have already started the construction work this year.

Telemetry System to Help Cardiac Patients

The Hamad Medical Corporation’s Ambulance Service has installed a telemetry system in some 60 ambulances and the Lifeflight helicopter to ensure that persons suffering from heart attack get prompt treatment at the Heart Hospital without going through the Emergency room.

GRSIA Launches Website

General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority (GRSIA) launched its website in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology (ictQATAR). GRPA portal is translation of its interest to keep abreast with the fast developments and online services. The portal provides some 26 services, all linked to Hukoomi.
