The Hukoomi portal is designed and programmed with the goal of making web content accessible for all users. To achieve this, Hukoomi is built to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0.
The WCAG is designed to make content accessible to wide range of people with disabilities, including:
- Blindness and low vision
- Deafness and hearing loss
- Learning disabilities
- Cognitive limitations
- Limited movement
- Speech disabilities
- Photosensitivity
- Combinations of the above.
Hukoomi is regularly assessed for its accessibility compliance. The portal first passed the WCAG in 2011, making it one of the most accessible web portals in the Gulf region.
